Huawei planned to launch its Mate X folding handset in this summer but they have delayed launching until September.
Early reviewers of Samsung’s Galaxy Fold reported regarding screen problems. So, Huawei wanted to conduct extra tests said by the firm.
Both firms had revealed the devices in February but Huawei said it now wanted to be more “cautious”.
Samsung who also announced to release of the fold has no further release date. But Huawei said to the BBC that it is confirmed that the device Mate X is expected to launch in September 2019.
It told CNBC “We don’t want to launch a product to destroy our reputation.”
Ben Wood from CCS Insight said that “The Mate X was always going to come later than Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, but the Korean phone maker’s problems have certainly given Huawei more breathing space.”
He also added, “There is little doubt Huawei will have learned lessons from Samsung’s problems and given the extra scrutiny the Mate X will get as a result Huawei is well advised to ensure it has every eventuality covered.”
