Sony will use Azure for Playstation


Despite of being in a bitter relationships between Sony and Microsoft over almost 2 Decades they are now going to make a deal. In the newest edition of Playstation Sony will use the Azure cloud service of Microsoft. The firms said that they would work together on Artificial Intelligence and semiconductors.

For Sony, it is now very important to keep the gamers happy all over the world to stay ahead in the business. For that, they need a strong live streaming cloud and that’s why they are going to make a bond with Azure. For Microsoft, to stay competitive in the streaming business in response to Amazon Web Services, hosting PlayStation’s streaming service would the biggest favor for them.

Sony’s chief executive Kenichio Yoshida said,

“For many years, Microsoft has been a key business partner for us, though of course, the two companies have also been competing in some areas,”

“I believe that our joint development of future cloud solutions will contribute greatly to the advancement of interactive content.”

Microsoft’s chief executive, Satya Nadella said: “Sony has always been a leader in both entertainment and technology, and the collaboration we announced today builds on this history of innovation.”
